SERVING THE CHILDREN OF THE WORLD
Mijn naam is Roel Van Broeckhoven, ik ben 44 jaar en sinds 2014 lid van Kiwanis Club Maaseik Van Eyck.
Kiwanis is een wereldwijde vereniging van vrijwilligers die zich iedere dag inzet voor het goede doel met een focus op het helpen van kinderen in armoede. Het motto van Kiwanis is ook niet voor niets ‘Serving the children of the world’.
In het District België-Luxemburg zijn er maar liefst meer dan vierduizend leden verspreid over tweehonderd clubs ieder dag bezig met het helpen van kinderen in armoede.
Want in een wereld waar miljoenen kinderen iedere dag opnieuw worden geconfronteerd met oorlog en leed, is een vereniging als Kiwanis heel hard nodig. Daarom dat het belangrijk is dat wij als kiwanis onszelf ook in vraag durven te stellen. Niet zo zeer omdat het verleden slecht was of omdat het vandaag slecht is maar om de toekomst te verbeteren.
Daarom beste vrienden van kiwanis moeten wij open staan voor verandering en tijd te nemen ‘to embrace the change’
En daarom stel ik mij vandaag met trots kandidaat voor het vice governorship, van ons district België-Luxemburg.
